My Favorite Picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

I promise I will explain my prolonged absence from blogging soon, but I wanted to get this post up first because it is time sensitive.  It will self-destruct on August 6th, 2017.  Not really, but that’s the date that the Nordstrom Anniversary sale ends, and I wanted to share some of my favorite mom-friendly wardrobe finds with you while you can still get them at a deep discount.  Sadly, we don’t have a Nordstrom in my town, but with their free two-way shipping, I just go nuts and buy tons of clothes, knowing I can try them on at my leisure and return what doesn’t work.  I’d probably do it this way even if we had a Nordstrom here because I have a dicey history with toddlers and fitting rooms.

ATHLEISURE.

Stupid name, fabulous concept.  It says to the world, “I am I on my way to practice goat yoga followed by a kale smoothie" when really you've been lying on your couch watching Moana for the hundredth time.  Athleisure is the comfort of yoga pants (which, btw did you know Victoria’s Secret discontinued their classic yoga pant?!) but with amped up style.

I am OBSESSED with anything made by Zella.  I truly think all of their pieces are as high-quality and flattering as Lululemon but for a fraction of the price.  I have their live-in leggings in multiple colors and I pretty much do live in them the entirety of fall and winter.

For the N Sale (that’s what all the cool fashion bloggers call it.  Can I be in your club now?), I strayed a bit out of my comfort zone and bought some edgier Zella leggings.

These moto leggings make me feel like a million bucks.  They’re high waisted, which is pretty much a requirement for any pants in my closet these days, and the stretch fabric holds everything in and gives a slimming effect.  I’m loving these with my new Nikes (also on sale!)

These pearl dot laminate leggings give me enough coverage to make me feel comfortable wearing them out of the house, but the sheer panels keep me cool enough to wear them to hot barre.  The leather-look styling will also make all the other moms wonder if I rode my Harley to class that day.

These crop leggings are pretty basic, but the sheer cutouts in the back make them just different enough to become a guilt-free addition to my legging drawer.

I can't wait to snuggle up on the couch in these roomy Nike cropped sweatpants.  I mean, wear them to Cross Fit.  Yeah, that's what I meant.  But if I WERE going to wear them around the house, I'd pair them with this ultra-soft Barefoot Dreams wrap cardigan and the world's most comfortable bra.  I’m not going to model the bra for you because this isn’t that kind of site, but if you’ve never tried the Natori Feathers collection you should give it a shot while they’re on sale.  Ignore that ad you keep seeing on Facebook about the world’s most comfortable memory foam bra because I tried it and it’s not.  Natori is where it’s at.  Plus it's gorgeous.

SHOES!

On the days/nights where I might actually wear denim and go somewhere besides the playground, I found some stylish footwear to spice up my look.

Vince Camuto is another one of my go-to brands.  I own several styles of his shoes and the booties never disappoint.  This style has been all over Instagram lately and for good reason.  The stack heel makes it super comfy, and the peep toe is the perfect transition into fall.

I’m a little iffy about these blush slide loafers.  But this style is supposed to be a trend or something and so I bought them in an attempt to stay (become?) relevant.  I think they’d be cute with a deconstructed denim hem, and they’re extremely comfortable so I’m going to give them a shot.  I love the blush color but I alllllmost bought this pair, because who doesn’t love a splash of leopard?

Ok, I have to say that I’m in love with these Badgley Mischka tennies.  When I saw them online I thought I might be too old to pull them off but I think they work.  The details make them fun and different, but the classic slip-on design means they’ll fit seamlessly into my casual wardrobe.  Yay for taking risks!

OUTERWEAR.

Things go fast at the N Sale, and there are a few items I was not able to snag quickly enough in my size.  I check every day to see if there's been a restock of this fabulous embroidered moto jacket.  If not, I might have to pull the trigger on this similar style.  A few of the items I purchased were backordered so keep checking my Instagram story to see me model them as they arrive!
