Poolside Style

We’re halfway through March.  Spring Break is upon us, and summer is just around the corner.  You know what that means.  Swimsuit Season.  I hate the pressure that term puts on women.  You feel the need to go on a diet or hurry up and work out so you can have a “beach body.”  Blegh.  If you want to get a beach body, take your body to the beach.  Boom.  Done.  But I know it isn’t as easy as it sounds to feel great about yourself in a swimsuit, especially if you’ve had kids and are dealing with major changes to your body.  Let me be clear that what your body has done and can do is much more important than how it looks, but I know that for many of us, putting on that swimsuit for the first time after a long winter is not always the most pleasant experience.  I’ve rounded up some of my favorite swimsuits for moms (or anyone!) who want a bit more coverage in certain areas without sacrificing style.

ModCloth has some of the cutest retro styled swimsuits I’ve seen online.  I’m a HUGE fan of the high-waisted bottoms because I can still wear a bikini while covering up my “pooch” at the same time.  Win/win.  They also have great, stylish options for plus size women.

Of course you'll need fun poolside accessories to go with your new swimsuit...
